搜索引擎優化 vs. Search Engine Optimization

October 1, 2010 by jerry

I’ve been thinking about doing some Multilingual SEO projects for a really long time but haven’t done anything until I got an English-Chinese SEO campaign around few month ago. Now the campaign is doing pretty well. 90% of keywords are ranking on the first page and 80% are on the top 3 positions. Not only my client is pretty happy about the results but also I finally feel the timing is right for me to rank for some REAL stuff in different language.

So here is  my new 90 day SEO experiment:

  1. I am going to rank my new SEO blog for 搜尋引擎最佳化 (Search Engine Optimization in Chinese) on the first page at Google (both Google and Google Taiwan) within 3 months.
  2. Again, the site will be a wordpress blog and all written in traditional Chinese
  3. At least one post a week.
  4. 20000 backlinks to homepage; 500 to each individual page

Challenges:

  1. FInding popular local social media sites
  2. Finding popular local web 2.0 sites
  3. Link requests from local websites, blogs or even my competitors
  4. Lots of manual works since there are not many Chinese SEO tools available (or simply because I don’t know where to find them ><“)
  5. The main keyword is competitive (imagine you wanna rank for Search Engine Optimization)
